SprachCafé is a German language and culture institute founded by Nitin Semwal, bringing together experienced German educators, including Goethe and telc examiners, and built around a simple belief: learning a language should help you do more than pass a test. It should help you communicate with confidence, connect with people and prepare for the opportunities ahead.
OUR STORY
From one German teacher to a growing learning community.
What began with Nitin Semwal teaching German to learners around the world has grown into a team of educators, two learning centres in Dehradun, and a growing community of learners.
The journey has evolved, but the purpose has remained the same: make German learning practical, personal and meaningful.

01 | The Beginning
A passion for teaching German
Nitin Semwal began his journey as a German teacher on Preply, working with learners from different backgrounds and helping them build confidence in the language.
Those early teaching experiences shaped a simple idea: German learning could be more personal, practical and engaging.
02 | Late 2024
The idea becomes an institute
What started with teaching individual learners gradually grew into something bigger.
Nitin took the next step and established an institute where learners could experience German in a more structured and supportive environment.
Learn German with Nitin and Preeti was born.
03 | Growing Together
From learners to a community
As more learners joined, the vision expanded beyond one teacher and one classroom.
Preeti, Nitin’s sister and a German educator herself, supported the journey along the way, while other teachers and mentors gradually joined the growing community, bringing their own experience and strengths.
04 | Today
Two centres. A growing team.
Today, SprachCafé has two physical learning centres in Dehradun, located in Ajabpur and IT Park.
The IT Park centre was added in 2026 as we continued to grow and make German learning accessible to more learners in the city.
As our team has grown, so has the depth of experience we bring to our classrooms. Our teaching team includes experienced German educators, including teachers with Goethe and telc examiner experience, bringing valuable insights from both language teaching and assessment into the learning experience.
Alongside our physical centres, we continue to offer live online learning, giving learners the freedom to choose how they want to learn.
05 | What's Next
Building something bigger
From Learn German with Nitin and Preeti to SprachCafé, the journey has grown, and so has the vision.
We are building SprachCafé into a wider German learning community where more learners can learn, practise, speak and prepare for the opportunities that German can open up.
And this is only the beginning.
WHY WE EXIST
We believe language learning should lead somewhere.
German is more than grammar, vocabulary, and certificates.
For many learners, German is connected to something bigger. It can mean preparing for university, opening doors to new career opportunities, communicating with people from a different culture, building meaningful relationships, or finding your place in a new environment.
That is why we believe language learning should never feel disconnected from real life.
At SprachCafé, we want learners to understand not only how German works, but how to use it in real life. Our classrooms are designed to give you opportunities to listen, practise, speak, ask questions, make mistakes, and gradually become more confident.
Because the goal is not simply to finish a level or collect a certificate.
The goal is to reach a point where German starts becoming part of your life.

The People Behind SprachCafé
Great learning starts with great teachers.
